Scrapbooking Conventions
Scrapbooking conventions and events happen all over the United States and in Europe, and attending one is many scrapbooking enthusiast’s favorite thing to do. Since they are usually held on weekends, the scrapper’s conventions are excellent for seeing up close the new scrapbooking and paper craft supplies, meeting new friends, gaining new ideas about scrapbooking techniques and viewing first-hand what new products are now available or soon to become available at local retailers and online.
By no means are scrapping conventions all business and only a serious matter. You’ll find lots of entertainment, a wide selection of foods, demonstrations on scrapbooking techniques, tools and equipment, networking to meet to like-minded folks, and opportunities to buy supplies and goodies are always plentiful. Many times cropping sessions are ongoing and “the place to be” for exciting interaction and productive scrapping!
In this video you’ll get glimpse of what a convention is like. I believe it was taken at the Great American Scrap Convention in Arlington, Texas, but I’m not positive. The 2012 GASC will be in Arlington, Texas on May 31 – June 2, 2012 and in Chantilly, Virginia June 22-23, 2012.
Creating Keepsakes Magazine also produces the Creative Keepsakes Conventions where attendees can enjoy a festive atmosphere to shop, hang out with friends, learn how other scrappers enjoy being creative. Below are two videos of a haul that was made from the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Manchester, NH on April 30th and May 1st, 2010. I think you’ll enjoy watching them both!
