Family Videos
Family videos are a timeless and endless treasure. They are timeless in that it doesn’t matter if the video is current or recent; they do not only get better with age. Capture a video segment today and what does everyone around at the time want to do? They want to see it immediately! If video was only treasured after an extended period of time, then why is it always exciting to see the new segments?
That’s not to say that aged video is not appreciated because it is. The images of days gone by and appearances that have changed are exciting to compare with the present. But when we look at old videos or movies it evokes emotions that may have long been forgotten. Sometimes it’s good, and sometimes it is not. But the old videos can do either, and sometimes the end result will not be known until the video images are launched.
I submit that one could call videos a form of scrapbooking; I guess the better term is videography. Possibly now videography is form of digital scrapbooking, it’s not constructed from paper with beautiful embellishments, but it is captivating and conveys the memories. Conveyance of memories is what scrapbooking is all about.
In the video above that was taken in the early 1960s, the family events tell a story. Although I don’t know the family, the scene and behaviors resemble my family. The memories that it brings to the surface make me think of my family, and even though the people are unknown to me, I felt as if I knew them. Video was, and still is, an excellent way to capture memories.
In these busy times in which we live, video scrapbooking is an excellent way to build a collection of memories. Family videos that are captured at any time will be fun and treasured to view, both now and later. Using a cell phone with video capabilities means you can capture life unscripted, and the memories will be docked forever. By collecting the videos and storing them as backup will preserve them safely.
Speaking of relationships, do you need break up advice to restore broken relationships that may have been damaged over time?
